Hi, I'm Rebecca and I teach women like you skills for safe and fun outdoor adventures. If you want to learn how to hit the trails using our easy trail-tested methods you're in the right place. I peel back the curtain and share the systems and processes that I've used to lead thousands of women on outdoor adventures over the past 10 years.

In this online self-paced bootcamp, I take the intimidation and anxiety out of backcountry navigation so you can navigate with your phone, read a map, and use a compass with confidence and ease - knowing exactly where you are and where you're going when you're hiking, backpacking, backcountry skiing or mountain biking. Knowing how to navigate will keep you safe on the trails so you don't have to worry about the unknown.

"I found Rebecca through one of her free workshops and then drove to Laramie to meet her in person. She spent an afternoon hiking with me. In just a few hours she showed how to read a map, use the compass on my phone and set up my Garmin inReach. She has so much knowledge that she's always willing to share online and in-person."

When you head into the backcountry without knowing how to navigate you may feel unprepared. You know these skills are important and you want to learn.

You might be wondering...

Can I really learn this  online?

Learning backcountry navigation in a fun, supportive online community is perfect because I'll guide you along the way and give you the skills you need to navigate anywhere your boots take you.

Isn't reading a map hard?

You may look at a map and feel like you're seeing a different language...but one with squiggly lines, weird shapes and math! In this bootcamp I provide easy-to follow methods that make it easy (and fun) to learn to read a map.

Isn't using a compass outdated?

The compass has been around for nearly 2,000 years. That's a tool with longevity! It'll be around for at least another 2,000 🙃. In this bootcamp you'll learn modern precision with time-tested, easy to use techniques.

I've asked those questions myself.

That's why I'll be alongside you every step of the way. Throughout our bootcamp you'll have access to me to ask any of your questions via email, text message and DM. I'll be happy to hop on a video chat with you any time.

This bootcamp is for you if...

  • You want to start hiking solo and expand your knowledge so you can safely plan your routes.
  • You want to show people who love you (but may be concerned about your safety) that you have the skills necessary to find your way.
  • You've always wanted to learn how to read a map and use a compass but feel intimidated by them.
  • You lead groups into the backcountry (or it's your goal to become a guide) and want to grow and learn as an outdoor leader.

  • You're on a tight budget!  We hear ya, the outdoors should be accessible to all budgets. You'll get the Bootcamp materials for LIFE this includes access to the lesson materials and any updates we make to it.

If you’re thinking "YES, that's me" keep on reading because I want to show you what is possible once you have mastered these skills.

"I started hiking when I turned 50, before then I was scared to hike, worried I'd get lost or hurt. Rebecca's YouTube videos have taught me so much. Now I'm planning to walk the El Camino with my daughter and granddaughter. Hike Like A Woman has given me the courage to plan this trip. "
